personal injury attorneys win

RSH Legal personal injury attorneys Tim Semelroth and Brian C. Ivers secured a $1.8 million verdict for Frank Sgambellone, a former sound engineer who was injured while working for the Luke Bryan tour.

Originally from Massachusetts, Frank was at the UNI-Dome helping with concert takedown in February 2016 when he was struck and run over by a forklift driven by a State of Iowa employee. Frank suffered a badly fractured ankle that required multiple surgeries and will result in pain from joint damage and arthritis for the rest of his life. He was unable to work for four months while he recovered, and ultimately could not return to the job he had before due to his injuries.

The State of Iowa offered $75,000 before trial to settle the case, but we insisted his harms and losses were worth more. Despite his trial being delayed due to the coronavirus, Frank’s trial finally occurred in April 2021. During the trial, Tim and Brian explained to the jury just how much Frank had lost in suffering this injury – and how the State of Iowa needed to pay the compensation that was deserved. The jury agreed and awarded Frank $1.8 million for his lost wages, loss of function in his leg, and pain and suffering.
