Congratulations to Iowa personal injury attorney Fred James on his election to the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) leadership team! Fred will serve as the Foundation President for ABOTA, a key member of leadership.

The ABOTA Foundation seeks to educate Americans on “the rights and responsibilities of citizenship.” It also serves to educate and uphold high standards of ethics for fellow lawyers.
As Foundation President, Fred’s goals are to further this education and support teachers who are illustrating this high standard of ethics.
One of the ways he intends to do this is through a new grant-giving program, American Board of Trial Advocates Foundation Award for Civics Excellence (ABOTA FACE). This grant money will help civics teachers who are underfunded and face unprecedented challenges.
The 2024 Civics Summit in Washington D.C. will be another highlight of Fred’s leadership. Led by experienced lawyers, law professors, and other legal scholars, this program will serve to foster an appreciation for the value of the American justice system.
Fred has been a member of ABOTA leadership previously, serving as secretary/treasurer of the Iowa Chapter.
We know Fred will lead well and with integrity. Congratulations again, Fred!
